On a recent trip to Love Supreme , a new bakery/café in Stoneybatter I came across something which I had never seen before–a pipette cupcake. In addition to dispensing liquids in the lab, pipettes are now being used to hold liquid and syrups in baking. The pipette stands upright in the cupcake and then, when you’re ready to eat it, you can squirt the liquid/syrup into the center of the cupcake.
The particular cupcake I tried was the coffee, cherry and bourbon flavored and cost €3.70. The pipette was filled with bourbon and while I was skeptical of the flavours at first, I was pleasantly surprised at how well they all worked together.
The innovation fits in with the Simple Pleasures Trend and in particular, the enhanced sensations sub-trend.
